Installation was easy. Good instructions were provided. Notes: I washed and waxed the area around the fuel filler opening first. You would not be able to get at it after installation.
The only slight difficulty was in attaching the actual fuel lid to its hinge. I originally had the "spring" towards the top until I realized it had to point down to the plastic fuel filler cap. Also, although the instructions do not say so, apparently the lock washer needs to go in between the spring steel and the hinge. Otherwise the two will rotate around each other. I installed in order bolt head / washer / hinge / lock nut /spring (pointing down to filler cap) / fuel lid.
There is a slight imperfection in the chrome at the edge of the "cup". It is really too small to notice if you are not looking for it and it does not bother me. I would guess such small imperfections are inherent in the manufacturing process. It are two cast pieces that are chromed. The lid surface itself is probably treated and has a perfect chrome cover, but that would be impractical for the complex shape of the cup.
So far I love it, though it is sure noticable, this big chunk of chrome! Is this really refined, I ask? While I am polishing the same chrome, of course. :)
