At the border between Oregon and Washington, Astoria is perched atop high hills at the mouth of the Columbia River. Based on "Road Trip USA", I took a room at the Crest Motel, with a bayview. I had dinner at the Pier 11, very good Salmon, and a grand view of the bay.

Astoria is a favority backdrop for Hollywood movies, and certainly picturesque. The crossing to Washington is beautiful.
