The Mississippi Delta was hot and humid as it should be. Since David Cohn has defined that the Mississipi "begins in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis and ends on Catfish Row in Vicksburg," I have driven through all of it. In fact, I got as far south as Natchez before driving the Natchez Trace back up to US 80.

Besides the hot humid atmosphere, I remember Mississippi for its forest and views of the Mississippi river and other waters.

I also crossed the river to Arkansas to visit Helena's Delta Cultural Center. It gives an objective history of the Delta, hiding nothing. The cultural center is next to a railroad station and a tiny harbor
