The Northern California Pacific Coast Highway is incredibly varied, changing from one stunningly beautiful type of scenery into another in the blink of an eye.
My trip did not include the Big Sur, a masterpiece of nature. I was lucky to have seen the Big Sur when I travelled the other way; El Nino's merciless rains closed it while I was there.
