Having reached cooler regions, and with no further destination, I take the opportunity to substitute local roads for highways wherever I can, even for "scenic" highways.
The results are great. Roads consistently exceed expectations. One interesting example is Kentucky 768; this road must have been signed by a racetrack enthusiast. If you can make the curve at 30 mph, why the hell mark it as a 15 mph advisory speed?
Not to mention that the road is full of hills you cannot see past until you are completely on top: a lot of those hills have nice sharp curves right on top. It was great fun.
I fixed the left rear turn signal, whose lead had broken off. Not exactly the light you want to be without on these roads.
