I largely succeeded in dodging rain; in any case I had the top down the entire day. And mostly not too hot either.

I tended to drive a lot along scenic routes along the Missisippi and Des Moines rivers. I crossed the Des Moines four times. I guess the Missisippi would have been three times.

I ended up at the motel in Bloomfield, which has surpringly big and high quality rooms. As far as I see, they are the only one in town too.
