How to Play
The word baccarat is derived from the Italian baccara,
which means zero. The term refers to the face game cards
and 10s, all of which have zero value inthe game of baccarat.
Baccarat is primarily a simple game. There are no decisions or options; no
degree of skill is required for either player or banker. It boils down to
the luck of the draw.
Drawing Cards
- A "hand" is considered a set of two drawn cards.
- In our game, there will not be a banker. All players are
playing against each other.
- Players will draw one card per hand at each of the two
checkpoints.
- A checkpoint monitor will record the drawn value on a check
sheet. The player will not keep his/her drawn cards.
- Both cards are faced down during real baccarat so it doesn't
matter that players won't see each other's cards.
- For better odds of winning, players can play multiple hands.
- If a player does elect to play more than one hand, his/her
draws at each checkpoint will match up in order meaning if a player plays
three hands, the first draw at checkpoint one and the first draw at
checkpoint two count together as hand one. The second draw at checkpoint
one and the second draw at checkpoint two together count as hand two.
- Players cannot intermix draw values between their own or
others' hands.
Don't worry, if you get lost, just make your way back to J.B.'s and
you can do your draws there.
Scoring
- All cards, ace through 9, are valued according to their
count.
- Tens and face cards count as zero.
- When any two cards total over a 10 count, 10 must be
subtracted. The remaining total is the card count.
- The highest total any baccarat hand can have is nine.
- At the finish all hand values will be totaled according to
the above guidelines.
- The player with the hand which values closest to 9 will win.
- In the event of a tie, those players will each play a new
hand drawing two more cards.
- If a player has more than one hand that is closest to 9 they
will be allowed to play that many new hands for the tie break.
- Each driver must also sign the sign-in sheet prior to the
Rally start.
Bets
- At a minimum, each car must have one player.
- The driver and passenger can act as one player, or the driver and
passenger can each be an individual player if they so choose.
- The first hand for each player is $3.00.
- Additional hands per player are $1.00.
- Each player can play up to 5 hands.
Prizes
- The player determined as the overall winner will receive $20.00.
- The runner-up $10.00.
- Additional prizes will be available depending on the number of
entries and hands played.
