Checking the Wiring

Note that this procedure requires removal and installation of the fuses. Be sure to remove them before connecting or disconnecting any electrical components! Failure to do so could result in serious injury! Ensure all are heeded.

De-energize the system and disconnect the new connectors. Check to make sure the existing wiring wasn't damaged during installation. Carefully remove the tape from the spliced connections between the car's wiring harness checking for any exposed or crossed wires. Compare the wire colors of the spliced connections with those listed in Splicing in the Connectors. If no abnormalities are found, perform the same checks on the spliced connection between the new connector and the original actuator connector. If either of these spliced connections revealed a fault, correct the problem, re tape the spliced connections, reattach the connectors and replace the fuses.

If no faults were found, perform the above inspection on the other side.

If no faults were found on either side, attach the new connectors and trace the wiring from the chassis harness all the way to the original actuator connectors (i.e. Black turns into yellow, goes through the connector and comes out yellow, then turns back into black.) Correct any faults, re-tape the spliced connections, and replace the fuses.
