You will be cutting through the five wires leading to each headlight motor. Then you will be splicing the cut ends to matching connectors, so that normal headlight operation is restored if you attach the connectors together.
Next you insert a "black box" in between the connectors. The black box has an additional white wire that is ducted to a switch near the driver's seat to allow raising the headlight for winking. That is basically it. Look at the wiring diagrams to see how it is done.
The order of steps is flexible. If you are not experienced at soldering, you may want to purchase the parts and assemble one or both of the black boxes first to gain confidence. The black boxes require the greatest soldering skill to assemble, and if you're experienced but just "rusty", you may want to install the switch and wiring harnesses first.
